Dr. Craig Kemper is a board-certified neurological surgeon with broad expertise in general neurosurgery and a special focus on complex cranial conditions. He is widely recognized as the region’s most accomplished acoustic tumor surgeon and serves as Medical Director of Neuro-Oncology at St. David’s Medical Center.

Dr. Kemper treats a wide range of neurological conditions, including brain tumors such as gliomas, meningiomas, metastases and pituitary adenomas, as well as acoustic tumors, aneurysms, vascular malformations, traumatic brain injuries, hydrocephalus, Chiari malformations and trigeminal neuralgia.

He is highly skilled in advanced neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomy, tumor resection, endoscopic and open skull base surgery, cranial reconstruction and minimally invasive endoscopic brain surgery. His expertise also includes treatment of hydrocephalus with VP shunt placement and specialized procedures such as microvascular decompression. In addition, Dr. Kemper performs a full range of spine procedures, including minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal tumor surgery, and cervical and lumbar fusions such as ACDF, ALIF and TLIF, as well as motion-preserving techniques and artificial disc replacement.

After earning his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Kemper completed both his internship and neurosurgery residency at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville.
