Calvin Cooper, MD, FAANS, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice as a neurological and spine surgeon. He graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University with a degree in biochemistry and was named to the National Dean’s List and several honor societies. Dr. Cooper is board-certified in Neurosurgery.

Dr. Cooper earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville where he also worked as a clinical investigator in the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Cooper furthered his professional training at Vanderbilt Medical Center where he completed his neurosurgery internship and residency and an endovascular fellowship.

His research has been published in numerous medical journals on topics including trigeminal neuralgia, cranial defects and treatment for strokes. He has also been a featured presenter at medical education conferences across the country. Dr. Cooper is a member of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Throughout his medical training and career he has excelled in leadership roles and has demonstrated a heart for service. He has been a mentor to Vanderbilt undergraduate students, a volunteer for the Seattle HIV/AIDS Alliance and a member of a medical delegation to China.
